The Pabst Mansion unveils its new holiday decorations, Hunger Task Force holds a Thanksgiving food drive, the Baird Center hosts Trainfest, and more this weekend.

1. 2024 Holiday Folk Fair International 

ALL WEEKEND | WISCONSIN STATE FAIR PARK

This weekend, the Holiday Folk Fair International returns to Wisconsin State Fair Park for the 81st time. This multicultural festival celebrates the many heritages of the people living in Southeastern Wisconsin through music, food, dance and art. Advance tickets are available for purchase online for $13, or $16 at the gate. 

2. Bach’s Christmas Oratorio

FRIDAY AT 7:30 P.M., SATURDAY AT 7:30 P.M., SUNDAY AT 2:30 P.M. | BRADLEY SYMPHONY CENTER

Considered one of Bach’s most opulent musical achievements, his Christmas Oratorio will be performed every day this weekend by the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, led by Music Director Ken-David Masur, who will be leaving the orchestra after the 2025-26 season. The MSO will be joined by the Milwaukee Symphony Chorus to bring the oratorio’s message of abundance and contemplation to life. Tickets are available online

3. Country Christmas Illuminated Walking Nights

ALL WEEKEND 5-9 P.M.  | THE INGLESIDE HOTEL

This weekend is the first chance to walk this mile-long trail lined with over a million holiday lights at the Ingleside Hotel. Starting Nov. 29, the trail will be opening for drive-through nights. Admission is $8 per person and available for purchase online.

4. Christmas at the Pabst Mansion          

ALL WEEKEND | PABST MANSION

This weekend marks the start of this year’s holiday season at the Pabst Mansion. Guests can adventure through the stately mansion that has once again been transformed with bright lights and beautiful displays on a self-guided tour.

5. Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Food Drive

FRIDAY FROM 5 A.M.-6 P.M. | AMERICAN FAMILY FIELD

Hunger Task Force is partnering with CBS 58 and the Brewers Community Foundation for this year’s annual Thanksgiving Drive-Thru Food Drive. They will be collecting turkeys and other healthy food or cash donations to feed families, children and seniors this holiday season.

 

 

6. ‘Mind’s Eye’ Opening Reception | Kim Storage Gallery

FRIDAY FROM 5-8 P.M. | 207 E. BUFFALO ST. 

Kim Storage Gallery is set to present artist Alyssa Smith’s latest collection, “Mind’s Eye,” this Friday. The collection explores the complexities of conscious and subconscious creation, highlighting the artist’s technique of transforming discarded materials into expressions of inner life.

7. The Hip Hop Nutcracker

FRIDAY AT 7:30 P.M.  | MARCUS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER

 This holiday mashup for the entire family returns to the Marcus Performing Arts Center on Friday. The show will be brought to life by dozens of dancers, a DJ, a violinist and MC Kurtis Blow. Tickets are available for purchase online for $45-$50.

8. Celtic Christmas Boutique

SATURDAY FROM 9 A.M.-3:30 P.M. | CELTIC MKE CENTER

Shop from over 35 Midwestern vendors at the Celtic Christmas Boutique annual holiday shopping fair. Here shoppers will find handcrafted unique items from local artisans, including jewelry, clothing, pottery, soaps, knitwear, art, quilts, books and more.

9. MobCraft Beer Stout Fest 2024

SATURDAY FROM 11 A.M.-11 P.M. | MOBCRAFT BEER

MobCraft Beer is set to celebrate stouts this Saturday for their seventh – and final – Stout Fest, as the brewery is closing Nov. 30. Attendees are encouraged to sport their best ugly Christmas sweater as they enjoy any of over 25 stouts on tap.

 

 

 

10. Trainfest 2024

SATURDAY AND SUNDAY | BAIRD CENTER

For collectors, enthusiasts, modelers and families, the 2024 Trainfest features hundreds of booths of train manufactures, retailers and operating exhibits. Plus, activities for kids, seminars and educational opportunities will be available. Tickets are available online

11. Cream City Creatives Craft Fair & Artisan Market

SUNDAY FROM 10 A.M.-3 P.M. | TURNER HALL BALLROOM

Cream City Creatives is celebrating the 10th anniversary of their craft fair and artisan market. Guests can browse from over 50 boots featuring artists, makers and sponsors from the Milwaukee and Wisconsin areas. Entrance is $3 at the door and kids under 12 are free.
